That shoe from 1995...

When you think about stout shoes of the nineties, your first thought is probably „Buffalos“! But I am not talking about them, I am talking about the must-have boot from 1994/95, the Palladium boots.

I had them in beige at that time and felt extremely cool with them. Finally they experience their revival! Of course I had to buy a pair; guess what color…

Palladium boots have a history that does not only go back to the nineties; it goes back to the twenties!

They initially made very succesfully aircraft tires from vulcanized rubber combined with canvas bands. After World War II they started to create shoes with the same formula. Their funcionality, robustness and comfort was so extraordinary, that even the French Foreign Legion used them.

Nowadays you can interpret them either as a functional shoe, or as a fashion accessory. I go for the latter and combine it nineties-girlie-wave-like with a flower print dress and a jeans jacket.

Wenn Du an derbe Schuhe der Neunziger denkst, kommen Dir bestimmt als allererstes die Buffalos in den Sinn. Ich spreche aber nicht von den Buffalos, sondern von dem It-Shoe von 1994/95: dem Palladium boots.

Ich hatte damals einen in beige und fühlte mich irre cool damit. Endlich erleben sie ihr Revival! Natürlich musste ich mir sofort ein Paar kaufen; Du darfst dreimal raten, in welcher Farbe…

Palladium Boots sind geschichtsträchtig. Ihre Geschichte geht nicht nur in die Neunziger zurück, sondern bis hin in die Zwanzigerjahre!

Ursprünglich stellte die Firma Palladium sehr erfolgreich Flugzeugreifen her. Ihre einzigartige Methode vulkanisierter Gummi mit Segeltuchstreifen zu kombinieren war bahnbrechend. Nach dem 2. Weltkrieg stieg Palladium ins Schuhbusiness ein; das Ziel war ein Schuh mit derselben Formel zu kreieren. Sie erschufen einen Schuh, der so funktional, robust, langlebig und komfortabel war, dass ihn sogar die französische Fremdenlegion nutzte.
Heutzutage kannst Du ihn sowohl als funktionaler Schuh oder als Modeaccessoire interpretieren. Ich wähle natürlich ganz klar die letztere Option und kombiniere ihn ganz im Stil der Girlie-Welle der Neunzigerjahre mit einem Blümchenkleid und einer Jeansjacke.
