Recently I was invited to a very special Event by the traditional Swiss Brand Victorinox. Artist Piroska Szönye from the Swiss mountain region „Bündlerland“ presented her lastest piece of art. She calls it a „CookArtPhilosophyPoesieBook.
Piroska appeared in the role of Johanna Spyrigs „Heidi“, but a grown-up and emancipated version of Heidi. She developed the idea to this unique book when she was traveling and homesick. So she started to write her thoughts about her country in a diary, collected simple traditional recipes and let them print, like our forefathers used to do, on butter-, cheese paper and other for us uncommon materials. Celebrity chiefs, such as Stefan Heilemann or foodblogger Nadia Damaso enriched the book with their recipes. Piroskas more pragmatic godson contributed with a „men’s dossier“. The result of it is a big, colorful, uncommon and inspiring objet d’art, which is predominantly hand-made. Victorinox supported the project from the very beginning.
The presentation was enriched with delicacies of the traditional Swiss cheese dairy „Jumi“, which I already got to know at the am GenussHoch12-2016 and GenussHoch12-2017.
The unique piece of art can be discovered at the Victorinox Flagship Store in Zurich and obviously it can also be acquired there. But it has its price. Only the book costs CHF 199, and if you want to have it together with the matching little suitcase it’s CHF 222.
If you think this is too much for you, I would still recommend that you just have a glance at it, I have never seen such a unique and extraordinary book!
